I realize that girls would RATHER be complimented on their personality, but is it still ok to compliment their looks?

I get it. Girls would RATHER be complimented on their personality traits, and that's fine, but, can we STILL compliment their looks too, or should it be STRICTLY their personality traits, like, how funny they are, or how sweet they are

If I know you, compliment away..”Your hair looks nice”, “I like how you look in blue”, “It’s always nice to see that smile first thing every morning”…. Those are all compliments guys I am either friends with or work with have given me and they are nice, compliments from strangers have been, “Cool toe nail polish”! That’s when I painted my nails the Packers colors, “wow, your eyes are really blue”! The other day a compliment my boyfriend gave was, “Your ass looks really nice when you wear those pants”. 😂 Coming from him, it was nice!

So why does it matter if that compliment came from someone else, as opposed to him?

You can absolutely compliment our looks. Pick some specific things. For example: if you like a girl's hair style, what do you like about it? "I really like what you've done with your hair. The bangs really bring out your eyes" (just pulling one out randomly). Can do the same with eyes, nails, outfit, etc. Compliment something and say what you like about it. Simple details can go a long way.

I told the girl I like the other day that I liked her "ripped style jeans" because we're both technically 90's kids (while she was born in the 90's), I was born '89, so I was still raised in the 90's. Ripped jeans were the fashion back then, for the grunge era of the 90's. She teased me saying "you like my jeans, you love me, don't you" (like whats her name did in miss congeniality)

People want meaningful and genuine compliments. While that is normally more common with less apparent qualities it isn't as if they also can't be appearance based.

If you are the only one to spot the hours of work some girl put into her nail polish, you bet your sweet behind she'll be happy to hear how good it looks. But well, as long as it is genuine mate.

The other day I told her I liked her ripped jeans (whether they were bought or just ripped because of how old they were), and I said, us 90's kids, love our grunge/nirvana look. She's like, you like my jeans, you looove me, don't you. She's said she loves me, I've never said it, only because I'm not really sure what love is, later on, we shared our first kiss, after she teased me about having never done it, since we both know we like each other but that I had never "made the move"

Fair to say it was a compliment well received. I guess you have some moves to make. It can be really fun when you both like each other. Still a bit scary, but oh so fun.

It completely depends on a girl really. But yeah, for most of girls I think it's okay to compliment her looks as long as you are complimenting politely.
