Was he trying to be nice or showing sign that he cares?

This guy I’m interested in, I was talking with his friend and he also got involved in the conversation. I was explaining that the bartender forget to give me my drink, and halfway explaining it the guy I’m interested in he immediately walks off without saying a word and went towards the bar. And I’m confused, and I noticed he’s at the bar. I went over there, and he was full on telling the bartender to make me the drink I wanted and that it was on him. I never experienced that before and it makes me wonder what it means

Most likely he's being a gentleman. I've done similar things, expecting nothing more.
