i asked something similar before, different guy. i’ve moved on from him, and lately his friend who we’ll call basketball for right now had been subtly flirting with me. from as long as i’ve known him, he’s never bothered or teased me like some of his friends. instead, ever since the beginning of the school year in August ‘23, he’s been complimenting me… rather often. he’, like the last guy, is totally out of my league- i’m more of an outcast, and he’s a him o jock for sure. he always seems to lighten up more around me like a golden retriever, and always goes out of his way to compliment me (examples: he usually calls my outfit pretty). his compliments have gotten more extensive lately, saying i overall looked amazing, “muy bonita!!”, his words (he’s in my Spanish class for context), as well with complimenting my preferred name, ray, as a cute name when i was explaining to another classmate about how i didn’t have a reason behind it. his exact words: me-> “yeah, i don’t have a reason behind my name, i just like it!” him - “yeah, it’s a really cute name in my opinion.” he smiled to me before he left too.
there is one last aspect in why i’m questioning this, is because of something that happened back a month or two. our class was learning about Spanish weddings, and had out class reenact one. he was chosen as husband, his friend the best man, and i the photographer. in his friend’s speech, he basically shipped us together as he said, and i quote, “congratulations on the wedding, i honestly thought that it’d be you and ray (me) up there, but congrats!” which the whole class to stir, and basketball smiled at me when his friend said that.

ik he was probs joking, but i was helping him with a question on our hw, and after he said, “THANK YOU RAY, YOU’RE MY LIFESAVER- I LOVE YOU!” so- i know he was probably messing with me though🥲
