How to read the signs between sexes that should be obvious?

For men, it is almost always difficult to read the signs women are sending us. Most of the time, women aren't always as straightforward as we men would like you to be. It can be a certain gaze, a slight touch that we men just don't get.

Do you have any experiences where it was difficult for you as a man to read the signs and interpret them for what they were?

Do you have any experiences as a woman where you sent out all the signs and the guy still didn't have a clue? Would you just move on or try harder?

My problem isn't picking up on the signs she is laying down (although I am probably only marginally better than most guys). My issue is knowing if her signals are friendly? Flirty? Flirty just to be flirty with zero intention of actually doing anything about it? (this one is far more common than it should be unfortunately). This is where I get hesitant, and get into overthink mode, which will send me home with an empty bag guaranteed.

I found throughout my 20s I just never got it and if I did get it aka a woman who really was giving me the looks I just chose not to ask because I wasn't at a place in time with my life career savings life goals - so ah well. I retired from flirting and dating when I hit 30 🧠😆😈 I find my brain is better useful for chores, errands and me working to pay taxes 😂😋

In other words - man there's no answers in the end, a woman either makes the move if the guy is aloof, or a man makes a move and gets reminded "oh sorry, I have a boyfriend husband" or even "I'm not allowed to date customers clients lol" lol 😆 or even plain - cringe. 😬

If I am interested in someone, they will know it. Lots of girls play games and make people chase them. I am not one of them.

@spartan55 I think girls will be better at answering this. Have you ever had a girl talking to you while she's playing with her hair? In an unconscious way? Biting her lip? Looking at you for more than 2 or 3 seconds during a conversation, longer than would be the norm in a normal conversation? Or looking at you when you're busy doing something or chatting with someone else, catch her looking at you and she quickly turns away her gaze? Walk past you at a friends meeting, lock her eyes on you as a form of saying "I'm here, I know you've notice me" and hold that gaze until you're the one that looks down?

There are so many things they do, consciously or inconsciously. Maybe Abbycado can inform us better.

Lol I just straight up suggest doing something. "Hey, wanna hang out?". Simple.

As for what @Tarifa mentions yeah those are some things that girls will do that aren't as direct as I am. I'm not saying I don't get flirty, but if someone flirts back, I'm not wasting time doing that never-ending dance.
