How to talk to a guy as a very introverted person?

So, there's this guy in my honors English class, and he's really cute, super funny, and extremely extroverted. I, a hopeless romantic, most likely neurodivergent, and extremely introverted struggle talking to people horribly, especially in person. I got his number from a mutual and we texted a bit the other night and I always catch him looking at me (which I'm probably overthinking). He's new to the area, just moved, single (my friend asked), so he doesn't know many. I sometimes feel like I'm either coming off too strong or anything. But I struggle talking to him, and I want to subtly flirt with him and maybe ask him to our homecoming since it's the 14th of September. I just struggle with what to say or do, I panic and freak out at school trying to talk to him. I also cannot fathom the idea that someone would actually like me.

From the former hopeless romantic that I was, to the hopeless romantic you still are, I feel your troubles ! How many times I struggled, thought and re-thought again, how to act, what to say, when, how, why, which tactics and... ARGH 🤯 Oh well, at 16, I even had one friend, acting as third party to arrange a date, it worked, miraculously lol

I know it's terrible, right, to find the line of action? But please, please:

DISCLAIMER IN CAPS: Observe the cute guy, try to, because from a hopeless romantic window, you can very much confuse pretty eyes with pretty soul, so make sure you're not on a bad track here, make sure he is decent enough, morally speaking, promise?

Now for some tips: As a teenager who was unable to know what to say when interested by a girl, I mostly used non-verbal language, try the eye contact, but not too much okay :D try to find opportunities to be near him, ask simple questions to him, make sure he notices that you often come back to him for apparently no reason, use your smile. And use whatever opportunity you may have to touch his hand swiftly or his arm, for instance.

The fact that you feel the need to say 'very' introvert is wild, I think what might help you is pre planning things to say and topics for conversations and let those conversations flow after bringing a topic, have a few in case the other ends.

yes, a bit of pre planning would be good, can you tell this to my old teenage self please. I would have had less troubles lol

Just as you'd talk to any guy... You're a smart gal... perhaps smart enough to know when you're coming on too strong so you can MANAGE it and stay low key around the shy guy... Don't be PEANUTS' PEPPERMINT PATTY.

You don't need to flirt with him. He's still THE GUY. Just make yourself available and chat with him.
