How to get with an introverted/private guy?

There is this person at my workplace, who seems very interesting to me, he's artsy and he’s also quite private. He does not speak much, or doesn't speak at all if he is not used to someone. He does speak to me and we have quite a few topics that interests us in common. I really really want to befriend him, to get to know him.. I also feel somewhat attracted to him. I'm not really used to introverted guys I don't know how to act, cause usually I was always involved with very extroverted people who took the initiative. I try to initiative conversations with this colleague of mine, and although he is responsive it's not really going quickly and smoothly as I'm used to.. sometimes I wonder if he even wants to talk to me… maybe anyone can give tips/advice? Why do you wonder if he wants to talk to you if he is already talking to you and have some topics in common? If you are already talking to him then that is a start. Being introverted you are going to have to take the initiative with him. You can't wait for him to make a move. So that means you gotta ask him to do something and do it outside work. Try and meet up for lunch or something. Just ask if he wants to do something outside work and talk. Have something in mind so if he says yes you aren't caught by surprise.

Just be patient with him. Most likely he does want to talk to you. He might even like you like you.

Is this a serious career potential occupation? If so, his reluctance to approach you makes perfect sense.

But if it is a temporary or seasonal job, well, you might as well try discreetly asking him (text, email, etc). In that case, what have you got to lose?

Nevermind the "artsy" weirdo and go find a guy who you don't work with. You can be his friend, but don't start fooling around with your co-workers unless you don't care about getting fired or getting them fired (unless your boss doesn't care)

You'll need to take the initiative in different ways than you do with guys who are not so introverted.
