It’s fine as long as you don’t cross the line and some people really aren’t even flirting they’re just being friendly. If you can tell you’re making someone uncomfortable but they’re being nice because they’re required to just leave them alone and allow that person to do his or her job.

Now, with that being said if someone genuinely appreciates it then it’s fine look you run into attractive people anywhere you go you just never know where you could find the one, so make sure to give people you like attention as long as it’s reasonable.

It is fine to get flirted on while working especially if it is as simple of hair & smile, if it makes you feel good and want to engage with the person over conversation while working then by all means continue.

Though if it is in a creepy / negative way that makes you the employee uncomfortable whether female or male you have every right to ask them to stop and or get assistance when they refuse / don’t take a hint….

I said depends - because if you're a woman ♀️ in this scenario as a customer wanting to flirt with an employee - I imagine it's a different setting compared to a male customer trying to flirt with pick up a female employee aka the waitress being flirted by a male customer, may not be single or may not take too kindly.
Likewise what if the person you're flirting with lady is already taken, whether a man or woman? 🧐

I am sure that most waiters and waitresses are prepared for people to flirt with them. Hopefully it is only verbal and not hands on. Plus that is how they get better tips. When they don’t get offended by innocent flirting.. and return some of it.

At my local Mexican restaurant there's a waitress who is friendly with me and my brother. Smiling and happy to see us wherever we eat lunch. I don't play attention cause they are just being friendly and see them flirt with older me as well in Spanish.
