As a customer I don't hit on retail staff. It puts them in a difficult position. I'm happy to chat with them, even flirt a little if they're up for it.

Its generally a bad idea, although I did it as a 19 year old

Don't fuck around at work.
I work around a fair number of women. I am polite and professional with them - and that's it. I do not flirt with any of them , I do not ask them out on dates , I do not try to get in their panties. If any of them flirt with me ( and it does happen) I keep a poker face and hard ignore that shit.
Go to work to work. If you start flirting with the customer it looks bad and it may give the customer the wrong impression - they may think you are serious and start stalking you at work ie. showing up when they really don't need to , asking you out in front or your coworkers, supervisor, waiting around for your shift to end. Some other customer may not like you flirting with them and may speak to your manager about how you made them "uncomfortable" .
No tomfuckery at work.
I think you should read your employment letter again. Pretty sure it says they'll fire your desperate ass for this
Flirting at work isn't a wise move.
I work alone
