In an awkward position?

Straight too the point.. I have recently lost my mum, we are talking 3weeks ago now and there's talk of some kind of inheritance? my ex ( kids mum) we split up over 6years has been an absolute rock and been there too help with everything.. we have been civil in the past, especially for the kids and more like a friend.. where we can chat about things.. And always insisted we were nooo were than friends, of course I was happy about as don't want anymore! Me.. the boys and her stayed at mine last night/separate beds.. this morning decided to jump in my bed as a joke and wanted cuddles... 1. Am I right tooo feel stand offish and awkward? 2. She said she weren't leaving till I gave her a hug, I felt pressured but not wanting to.. she said she has soo many mixed emotions towards me and wants to touch me :( 3. I now feel like shit about the bigger picture, but now guilty because of the ex... am I right to feel the way i do?

Dam man, what a weird situation. You've had a lot to deal with losing your mom too. Totally get why you'd feel awkward and even pressured with your ex in your bed like that.

Look, you're both going through a lot of emotions right now. But adding romance back into things could seriously mess stuff up, especially with the inheritance and kids involved. She's probably just as confused and seeking comfort, but you gotta set clear boundaries.

Tell her you care about her as the mom of your kids, but can only see her as a friend. Don't feel bad saying no to anything more physical or intimate - you don't owe her that. And no mean you just need space to grieve without extra drama.

Maybe give it some time apart so you both get perspective. Last thing you want is things getting heated and then having to deal with drama for the kids. Stick to what's best for them through this rough time. You got this man, stay strong.

Glad I could give some perspective, man. And no problem at all - I know talking it through can help sort things out when your head is all muddy. Just take all the time you need to grieve, that's the most important thing right now. Don't be afraid to lean on other friends and family for help too if you need it.

Try not to stress too much over the ex stuff either - easier said than done, I know. But worrying about it won't change anything, so just do what feels right for you in your own time. And make sure to be extra gentle with yourself through this, losing your mum is incredibly rough. We're all here for you if you need anything else, but for now just focus on you and those boys. You'll get through to the other side, keep your chin up dude 🙌
