Why did I start losing interest after the guy that I was interested in seemed too eager?

I already knew that he was also interested in me. We didn’t really talk that much but I guess after he realized that I was interested he started texting me a lot. In the past I’d be extremely happy if a guy was interested and always waited for a text but now it seems like it’s too fast. We haven’t met that long ago. Why do I feel this way? He’s a very sweet guy, I feel bad. We’re kinda in the talking stage but my feelings are nothing more than interest.
