How to fix awkward first conversation with crush?

I approached my crush and asked him something and then it turned into a really awkward little encounter

and I was quite quiet and then there was an awkward silence somewhere in there, so he looked away and I looked the other way and then awkwardly tried to break the silence and then at the end it was awkward silence again so he sat down and so I said thanks and he said no problem and I walked away...and it was just a mess in my mind...

so have I blown it? Why am I so awkward ahhh... what do you think he thinks of me at this point?

Hmm.. Truthfully... Why would it be so weird between you guys? Is he interested in you? Lol That does sound like a weird encounter to me but why was he so silent? But I guess I have to realize there's a broad amount of personalities other than what I'm used to... I'd say give it another chance... Talk to him again.. Maybe he didn't know what to say or mabe he wasn't expecting you to talk to him?

I'd say.. Don't cutt your chances off just because of this little mess up lol try talking to him again, and maybe 3 times.. if he doesn't open up by then.. he may be too quiet, not interested or not your type.. but you won't find out again until your try at least one more time.. sometimes you can catch people unexpectedly or in a bad mood and he may not think nothing of it

I'd say... there were some days that I'd be like "Ugh this person doesn't like me I'm giving up on our friendship completely!" And then I had another encounter with them that made me change my mind.. so you never know until you give it another try

He is very friendly and chatty with everyone, sand he did try to make conversation but I had nothing to say apparently because I just froze up and gave him like one word answers or no answer like HIm: makes a statement Me:"True..." *awkward silence* ... :( Oh lord. I haven't seen him sinece ex ept for once when I ran away of embarassment.

Some people would be freaked out by that, but he might not be. Honestly, my initial reaction would be 'I'm gettin' laiiiiid'. LOOLLL.

Talk to him again, but keep it short. When it starts to get awkward, say 'Well, uh - I've got to go, cya!' Its a golden little move. Everyone knows you don't have to go, but its a good little escape route and it leaves everyone feeling happy. The only time it can go wrong is if you both go to say it, but that's very rare. I did it once, but it wasn't really awkward, 'cos I got a little anecdote in about why I had to go, and she didn't really have to go, so she was happy to hear it. =]

He's very friendly and chatty with everyone which I didn't know, and so that scared me off because I was expecting just an answer to my question/to be the only one talking and then he starts talking and I get nervous. Him: "Makes a statement" Me: "True..." *awkward silence* Me: "So...back to my question" haha

Haha, aww. Well... I dunno, maybe you oughta let him carry the conversation. Just stoke the fire, like, ask him stuff relevant to the statement he makes, insteada' going 'true' and killing it, you know?

Just explain to him what happened, if he can't understand, then I don't think you should try and go for him. Just say you were nervous talking to him the first time and then just go with the flow from there.
