Should a girl be flirty or more passive when pursuing a guy?

To get a guys attention: is it better to be openly flirty and more assertive about your feelings, or better to sit back and let him pull the moves? Is one a turn off over the other?

1. Guys are not a monolith. You cannot ask this question as though the same tactic works on all guys.

2. No amount of flirting is going to sway a man who is not interested and that is probably single handedly the biggest mistake women make when choosing men. She thinks, "hey, I got a vagina, so he's going to dig me". It doesn't work that way that's all. Too many women today think men are attracted to what they are and not who they are and that is why she fails.

This is a good point. I wasn’t trying to imply that men have to be attracted to me. That being said, is it my best interest to flirt right away to get a feel for whether or not he likes me, or assume that he doesn’t until he makes a move. I understand that everyone is different, but for the sake of not wasting time I want to know what the proper way to express interest is

I think flirting right away yields the best results. Yes there are going to be aggressive guys who will carry the load here. But this is another misconception of women. Guys do not like rejection anymore than women. We just know we have to do most the heavy lifting. I'm not saying you have to do a lot. But give him SOME indication you're interested. That way it doesn't feel like he's going into it cold to him. Open the door then all he has to do is walk through it.

You should be as open and direct as possible. I'm probably the biggest moron in the world when it comes to women making a move on me. If I have a serious amount of interest, I overanalyze anything that happens. Even if something could be perceived as a clear sign of interest, I will figure a way to make it seem like the opposite.

Do whatever you are comfortable doing, but my suggestion is to be as flirty as necessary to let him know you are interested without being over the top about it. Subtle is best provided he notices.

Be direct and invite him out for coffee an tell him you would like to meet him. Simple as that. If he says no, its OK.

Flirty looks shallow and easy. Sitting back is invisible. If you looked good and I was single, when I was 25 to forty, I would not decline your invite. If I were your father, I would tell you that, you should delay intimacy for several dates.
