Why would a guy not pursue a girl he likes if she is showing interest?

There can be number of reasons, first he is shy, second afraid telling his feelings, third maybe society pressure, fourth age gap , fifth maybe you are not showing him the signs of liking even though you like him. I have listen many girls taking about this problem.

True, maybe he actually didn't get the hint. I was friendly and initiated conversation but I didn't flirt. What do you mean by age gap? Guys are less likely to pursue older women?

Same with the girls too even girls couldn't pursue or initiate conversation... With the guys who are older than them. Coz you will find hard to pursue any conversation with the people who are older than you. Am i right or not?

Too many possible reasons.
he's not single.
she's not single.
He doesn't know she's interested. (Her signs are too subtle)
He is gay.
He doesn't have time for a relationship.
He knows itll fail and doesn't want to ruin what he thinks is his one chance.
he's been warned off her.
Irreconcilable differences. (Religion/politics)
They are from different social classes

Same reason (s) a woman may not. And it's also very possible her "showing interest" isn't direct enough. ie, it is to you, but not to him.

But sometimes low self esteem comes into play. Sometimes you can be very direct, and he might still think you're really not interested. Just feelings and low self esteem. But we can be no different than women this way. We can have all the same thoughts, feelings and insecurities you do.
