Can outgoing guys be shy towards the girl they like?

I'm a freshman in college and I like this guy that's a senior. I added him on Fb over winter break and chatted him a few times. The conversation seemed to go well and we talked about anything and everything. This past week was my first week back at school and I've seen him around quite a bit. At random times though, never at the right moment. Anyways, yesterday my friend and I were talking to this guy that works at the security desk and the guy I like came and sat in a chair behind us while he was waiting for someone. (it was free skating for my school that night and he was going with a few of his friends and I was going with my best friend) He didn't say anything to me though and neither did I. A short while later my friend and I see him at the rink. He's a social guy so he was talking to a lot of people while he was skating. My friend and I were skating too, doing our own thing until her ankle started hurting and she went to sit down, so I was left skating all by myself. Not once did he come up to me to talk the entire time we were there, besides at one point he skated up to my friend and I and was like "hey ladies what's up?", but then quickly skated away. I feel like he talked to pretty much everyone else from my school that was there except me and my friend. I don’t understand, I thought I would catching him looking at me sometimes before, and I’ve been told I’m an attractive girl (you can see my profile and decide for yourself), but he didn’t even try talking to me last night when he had the perfect chance and I was all by myself. So should I assume he has no interest and move on? Or is it possible that he likes me, and even though he’s generally an outgoing guy he’s shy around me, and that’s why he hasn’t tried talking to me?

Short answer: Hell to the Yes. Long answer: (Hold on I'm still reading . . . ) Ok, it sounds like he's really into you but he can't bring himself to talk to you because he's afraid of saying the wrong thing. If I were you, I'd talk to him again and say, "I'm glad we met. I like you. You're outgoing and funny and cute. And I really like you." if he says, "I like you too." you need to follow up with, "How so?" keep rolling the questions until he blurts it out. Odds are he's into you. Worst case scenario, he's into your friend. Ouch, but I don't think so, he's looking at you after all. Good luck.

I definitely know he doesn't have feelings for my friend, so that option is out. Also, I've only caught him looking at me twice on days when I was wearing cute outfits, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Well, I'm just saying I'm the kind of outgoing guy that behaves like he does in the situation you described. If I were him, and I were doing that, I'd be really into you.

Ahhh okay thanks for your help. :) My other question is...I'm about to go out to a party with two of my girlfriends where I could potentially see him. Is it okay if I wear a shirt that shows off some of my cleavage? It's just that I'm a really good girl and I don't want to give him the wrong idea. I really like him, and this will only be the second college party that I've been to so idk..

Oh yes, and see if he takes notice or tries to avoid looking at your shirt, that would be cute. Then talk to him. See how nervous he gets, let him know that you're into him. See if he's into you, go somewhere relatively private at the party and talk. You'll have a good time. I'm crossing my fingers that you'll have a date by the end of the night and if you wear that shirt, your chances can only go up!

of course, when I'm with friends I'm usually a loud mouth and hardly shut up, but the minute a girl I have a crush on enters the room I'm quieter than a damn mouse and act clearly shy as shit.. and I fucking hate it because I feel like it just gives the impression that I'm ALWAYS like that and I fear that it deters the girl away.. :/

Yes, guys will usually act differently with a girl they really like, and a normally outgoing guy will sometimes be shyer around her than with others.

Not necesarily, though. I act about the same, and I'm classified as outgoing!
