Guys, if an older women asked you out (customer while you were working)?

So I noticed this guy in a cafe and... you know like that Roal Dahl story about when people are good and think good thoughts it just shines out of them.. well he was like that. And then I noticed that he was also cute too :) But, a fair bit younger than me. I'm 33 and he looked maybe 24ish.

But it's been a while since someones caught my interest and... I thought maybe I'll pop back some time and give him my number.

I broached this on a primarily womens based forum and I swear there were people freaking out. 'Omg you can't do that he's working! People have the right to work and not be harassed!'. And 'So you're 35 and looking at 25 years olds?' and even 'women shouldn't approach men' !

And here was me thinking guys would probably just appreciate a woman showing interest and taking initiative tbh like it's not that deep lol.

But maybe I better check in with the guys. Yay or nay? And if yes, how to go about it? Would it be ok to just grab coffee to go and say 'by the way, I noticed you and thought you had a lovely smile, here's my number just on the off chance you fancy going out sometime' and leave?

All those people that made those comments are totally correct.

You never attempt to hit on a person at work. He is under contract with a boss to work and not to flirt or try to hook up with guests. That is so totally unprofessional.

I, as a boss, would certainly not want my employees to flirt during working hours. This can cause a number of problems such as giving free drinks to those customers or any other favors.

Regardless of the age difference, this is just something that one should not do. There is nothing against you waiting outside his workplace and hit on him once he is off duty.

Also, in customer service half the job is often banter with people. That's what forward facing roles often are. Having worked in customer service in many positions myself too I can't say I've ever been told it's not ok to banter with customers.

Obviously you can't give them free stuff but I mean I'm not talking about getting free stuff anyway lol.

Then again we're in the UK so maybe you're elsewhere where it's a bit stricter.

Waiting outside someones work would be creepy.
