Backstory: There's this guy who dated a friend/aquaintance of mine two years ago. They were only dating a couple months and now she's marrying a woman and lives multiple states away. Anyway, a few months ago I saw his profile on a dating app (Upward). I liked his profile but I deleted my profile soon after and am not sure if he ever saw.

Fastforward to now, he attended a class at my church last week. This is the first time I've seen him in person since he dated my friend. We had a nice chat and I'd definitely be interested in getting to know him more.

Would it be weird to follow him on Instagram? We only have one mutual friend.
