Could I turn this fellow co-worker into a relationship?

Ok I got this co-worker who at one time I actually spoke to for 3 hours straight at work. We usually talk everyday for 4 months but we never talk outside of work or hung out outside of work. She seems very shy in doing anything thing outside of work. We have so much in common and even fellow coworkers notice we have a thing for each other. She even made me a stick of butter from scratch and brought me lunch she made herself. She only did it for me. So we had a weight loss bet of who would lose the most weight in 6 months they would get $500. I found out from other co-workers that when we started talking she just got out of an 7 year relationship so maybe that why she was reluctant in doing anything outside of work. 2 months in the competition she kinda gave up knowing she will lose but she told me she will go through the whole 6 months with me. She told me that before she made the bet she knew she was going to lose. I told her why she went through it. She told me that when I lose the weight I would get a girlfriend and look good for the next girl but not her. I’m confused as why would a girl want me to look good for another girl and give away $500 or do you think she is pulling my leg and deep down she does like me and she needs time to recover from a 7 yr. Relationship and don’t want me to push being in a relationship with her for the time being?

I’m somewhat concerned that you both can spend 3 hours straight chatting to each other on works time but putting that aside and attempting to focus on what you asked my opinion is that I think it’s painfully obvious that you want to and whether you could depends on both of you.


What you must do and I do wonder why you haven’t is get the message across to her that you think of her in a romantic way and not just someone at work that you chat to.


This is why I think she is making the comments about loosing the weight bet and you finding another girl / woman is because she is attempting to measure your thoughts over her by your reaction / reply


You need to up your game and make a move , this girl in my opinion could not be any more obvious


And well , if I’m wrong then at least you put yourself out there and no that for now at least she is in the “friend zone’ and you can move on.

Well lol… I should had done this immediately when you told me this… like with everything else it has an expiration date. You were right… the finding another girl comment was a “shit” test and her telling me other guys flirt with her at work…found out on Valentine’s that she got back with her ex from her co worker. I thought it was another test when I realized now she avoids talking to me now, when we usually talk at work every day on average of an hour. Of course she does not tell me she went back directly when I ask so you have a boyfriend now… she would saw no… but I am “ hanging out with a boy that is a friend”

One of those situations where being right is only a small consolation. We all live and learn. Kinda sly that she even now is trying to keep you on a hook by not being completely honest with what she has done in taking back her ex but more fool her.
