If a guy gets jealous when a girl mentions another guy, does it mean he likes her?

This girl is pretty youngish etc.

But I don't necessarily think they're compatible. That being said when I saw my crush react with jealousy when she mentioned a random guy and not a bit of jealousy but quite a bit - I thought he likes her.

Do guys only get jealous when they really like the girl or could this be a case of she's pretty etc. so he might not like her giving attention to others but isn't necessarily head over heels for her kinda thing

If we were to play devils advocate by affirming that you are correct and this is jealousy, usually it stems from insecurity along with fear of losing that person to someone else. If he does like her then obviously he wouldn’t want to miss his shot, but then that would be on him if he did, since he could just ask her out. Of course the whole “not wanting to date a coworker” aspect of interoffice relationships comes into play, and it could contribute as to why he doesn’t make a move on her or anyone else. In any case though, only time will tell what could happen for them, if there even were a “them”.

I think jealousy is a self-esteem and trust issue. Someone thinks that a SO paying attention to another person is a threat to them or their (potential) relationship.

If you're secure in who you are and in your relationship, and trust your partner, jealousy isn't generally a factor. But, if your relationship is shaky, there's a lack of trust between two people and you don't feel that great about what you bring to the relationship and think others have more to give, that can easily add up to jealousy.

I like to mention other guys when I wanna see if a guy likes me, they usually react two ways, either the conversation goes a bit dry cause I can see their jaws clenched and stuff, or they are like yeah u go girl and then start mentioning other girls a bit,

but when I don't react with jealousy they usually let the other girl go from the conversation and start teasing me about the guy,

Personally wouldn't date someone who starts mentioning other girls, I prefer one woman men, but yeah I think if u choose the one who starts mentioning other girls I don't think he'll give u a very smooth and loyal relationship, like u might have to worry about the loyalty bits, but that jaw clenching guys they usually in my experience turn up loyal,

Jealousy can be strong Signal indicating interest because I can't think any other reason for that act

1. He likes her a lot
2. He likes her enough to not like another guy getting her attention.

I thought it's the first but now I'm not so sure

He apperantly wants to keep you both I guess I think you should move on and find someone you are sure about his feelings because it would be exhausting for you to live with that paradox

When I noticed his jealousy etc. I wasn't in the picture.

Afterwards although his attention did shift to me to some attention in my mind I always thought he likes her because of his reaction that day.
