You're not gen Z to me, even if I gave credit to pop culture notions you're mentioning, you would still be discarded. Because you're trying to transfer notions from US culture to India, whereas those 2 countries have little in common culturally.

As for the source, the blog you mentioned, I don't see anything uptight about it, I see mental health. Because I can't assume any stable 17yo teen would believe she's underage when facing someone 20. This massive inability to decipher context, at 17, is a rigidity level that screams mental illness to me. That or impairment.
