Scenario: I was leaving the grocery store. It was raining, so I put newspaper over her head. A man approached me, compliemented me, and said, "I'd like to get a picture of that." I smiled, but it's hard for me to process /think quickly in real-time, so I didn't know what to say back like if i should flirt, I just didn't think that far. He said I'll take your cart and then say, "You have a beautiful smile as he was walking away." "Then I said," So do you. "I just didn't know what to do. Did I seem uninterested or like I was taken? I'm very confused by the interaction. He wasn't a creep he was very nice and respectful. Was I supposed to do more, or should he have made a bit more effort to let me know he was interested?

You weren't obligated to do anything for one so I wouldn't feel bad because despite him being nice, which I'm glad, it was raining, you were running, and he threw you off lol. I think you reacted like many people might have.

I wouldn't say you seem uninterested more than you were preoccupied.

See there's like nothing I can do about that. When a man approaches I assume he will take the lead. I grew up in a very traditional strict conservative Christian by the bible family. Its just ingrained in me. But why approach and what are you hoping the woman does when you approach?
