How can a guy just stop liking you?

i have this group of friends and we always hang out all guys except my friend(we'll call her sue) and i. so I kind of fell for this one guy in the group in the summer but my best friend( who is a guy) told me no way because he'll just cheat on you with sue so I gave up and it was no big deal. so about a month ago I started to like him again and my best friend told me he was interested also so I was excited. he tried to spit game and it was great...we hung out a couple of times..took a while for us to kiss but he told me that was because he was used to the girl making the first move so I did, it was great! so we sort of started to see each other but I was a little wary because sue still liked him but she had a boyfriend. ONE NIGHT my parents were out of town and I invited him over. we got in the HOT TUB and fooled around which was a first for us...then it lead up stairs to my bedroom...we had sex and it was my first time and he had only been with sue but he was so sweet the whole time..i thought it was going well. he had to leave pretty much after that so we kissed and hugged goodbye and then that was it...hes been avoiding me ever since and he told my best friend he was done and it was to fast and now its awkward and its never gonna work out!

i was so shocked and it hurts too
