How can I tell if I've peaked his interest?

I see a guy around a lot, but I can't tell if he's glancing at me because he's interested or because he's bored/glances at everyone. I do ignore him so he ignores me too, but before I can take the next step in showing interest, how can I tell if I've peaked his interest?

As a customer I approached him before and he was extremely helpful and polite and attentive, but he could just be doing his job well...

If you wait for signs like that, you could be waiting forever - or possibly mistake a "warm and inviting hint" for something it's not. My advice is that when you think you are ready to take a risk in talking to him - then you should do so. Maybe make a comment about how you've seen him around a lot.. You could even make some banter or bullsh*t about how he's your favorite stalker. Overall though, I prefer just a genuine conversation with someone that is awake and living.

Definition of Awake and Living: Not you're average robot who woke up on a bad Monday morning.

- Try to recall those days that you wake up with a "pep in your step" / the days where you were happy to live, where you had lots to do, and where you were in an awesome mood. Those are the days where I like to talk to people because it's refreshing. It's fun to be around them because they WANT to live and to meet people. If you come across a day like that, I would recommend talking to him on that day.

ask him about something in the store you might be interested in, even if its a dumb question it can't hurt cause guess what, he's gonna talk to you and you can go from there.

It's hard if not immpossible to tell if someone is interested at their place of work. He could have been nice to you but that could just be his work motto. The best way is to try and find a way to communicate outside of work. If he makes an effort to talk to you when you have each others number, or if you'r re able to get his number at all, he's interested.
