So me and my boyfriend have been dating for about 7 months now and so we're pretty comfortable around each other and I feel comfortable when I'm with him and my friends but when his friends are around us he acts differently with me. He won't even hold my hand and if he does then he tries to hide it from his friends. I understand that he probably doesn't wanna be all huggy and touchy feely in public and I understand that because I'm not very much like that either but I mean not even holding my hand? That seems a little dirty weird to me. I told him about it one night and he apologized and said he didn't mean to at all but then when we are at school and holding hands in the morning, he either let's go of my hand or hides it when his friends come by us. What should I do?

Find someone who is not afraid to show his affection for you no matter who is around. Boys are very immature in high school, especially around their friends. You've already expressed your feelings to him and he still trying to hide holding your hand...tell him to kick rocks! Be confident and sure of yourself. Let him see you are better off without someone so immature and childish.

Maybe he's not a fan of PDA's. It could also be that he either wants to keep the relationship private or maybe he wants to seem more manly around his buddies.

Grow up. I personally dislike others PDA so I try not to engage in PDA myself. It is tough to draw the line between acceptable PDA and unacceptable PDA. So maybe his answer is just not to engage in it at all in public.

Personally I would worry if he were hiding you from his friends, but as this is not the case, I suggest you just not try and hold his hand in public.

He apologized but did he say anything that would explain why? And this is mainly when his friends are around and not so much around your friends? Guys can be pretty ruthless at that age for no reason. Maybe his friends give him a hard time. Anyway, give it some time. Maybe he'll adjust to the idea or more clues will surface.

maybe he thinks his friends will make fun of him for it. I would just ignore it for now and maybe as you get a little older he'll be more comfortable holding your hand around his friends.
