Shy girls, how do you show affection?

I've been trying to figure out this girl for a while. She is shy and quiet but playful with people she knows. With me she kind of gets nervous and quiet. I have noticed that most of the time we talk we are either making fun of each other or arguing. People around us crack up ALL the time when we are "fighting" (we do dish out some great punishment). Sarcasm is great between us and she seems to enjoy to see me "suffer" as in if other people make fun of me she starts laughing at me and agreeing with them or if I say how I tripped and fell, she tells me she would've loved being there so she could laugh or she is just mean to me. She always has a smile when we talk and when she is "mean" she just stares at me but then starts cracking up or looking away. Could there be anything here? I think its funny a quiet girl could muster the courage to be like that to me, especially since I'm "well liked" in our circle.

She likes the attention your giving. Next time she's being mean, give her a little push by her arm so she moves half a step. If she pushes back or punches your arm and smiles during the 2nd or third time you pushed her then it shows she doesn't mind you touching her. Then you can move on to teasing... hugging... *cough* bedroom activities. Off course it depends how she reacts. If she reciprocates to the things your doing, then she likes it. she doesn't sound shy at all. sometimes shy girls are mistaken for bein bitches and bitches are mistaken as bein shy. she sounds like a bitch. sorry but its true. I am shy & that is not how I show affection at all. I am really sweet, I show affection by takin care of my man, cookin for him, massages, caterin to him etc. & in public I might hold his hand lol or MIGHT kiss him on the cheek. I will play around or joke with him but not to embarrass him.

i'd say she's flirting with you. affection is different... it's past the flirting stage, when how she feels about you is already evident. I show affection by hugging people, playing around with them, being silly, etc.

The guy I like is very "well-liked". I am sarcastic, argue with him as much as possible and let him suffer. Totally wrong way to do it, but I am not going to be easy for him. He has to put more effort into it.
