How do you react when a handsome guy approaches you, who is shy?

By shy I mean he seems friendly, but its clear he doesn't approach very often becasue he seems somewhat nervous? girls please give me your honest opinions, is this kind of a turn off?

I can only speak for myself, but when I make eye contact with handsome or otherwise attractive guys, I tend to look away automatically, not because they intimidate me but because I don’t want to accidentally end up staring at them. If he is obviously trying to interact with me, I will deal with it, but it’ll make me self-conscious. Say he was obviously nervous, like he seemed hesitant or fidgety or a bit stuck on his words – that would actually make me feel like hey, I can lead the conversation, I have a little power in this situation, yes to not being completely inadequate. His shyness would actually increase his chances of scoring with me.

Admittedly, I consider myself of average looks and tend to fall for casual types. I often write off highly attractive guys subconsciously because I assume that they will shoot for more obviously attractive people, so if one of them approached me I would be taken aback and a little suspicious of him toying with me. It always depends on the time and place, though, and if he is honest and straight with me rather than leaning up on things and spouting off generic gibberish lines it’d totally make my week.

And to be more straight-up, I find nervousness cute ^^.

This is definitely not a turn off. I am very flattered when a guy who's obviously shy approaches me. It shows that he really is interested in me because he is going out of his comfort zone to talk to me. It may be awkward at first, but that's easily navigated as conversations progress.

It depends. I think it can actually be a turn on. It depends if there is a chemistry. If there is a chemistry it doesn't matter shy or not, tall or short, poor or wealthy etc. To me, when the chemistry is there everything about the guy seems great and attractive. Even the things that I thought I would never like.
