How to get a girlfriend?

I am going crazy without a girlfriend. I am in college but I don't go to parties only because I'm new here as don't have any connections.

What should I do to get a girlfriend? by the way my standards are really high so that's why I currently don't have one..so I am looking for really attractive girls to approach.

So if a start a convo with a girl and get her number is it OK to call get a couple days later to ask her on a date? Or do I have to wait awhile and "hang out" before asking for the date?

You can do either. It really just depends on your delivery of the request and her willingness to accept.

one key: CONFIDENCE!.. NOT COCKINESS.. be outgoing, don't be scared to talk to people, you need to go out in order to find a girl, they don't fall off trees. So go out, and meet some friends, go to parties, enjoy yourself, you will meet someone in no time, but don't be desperate, its a bad look for guys. Thats why you have to meet people! Don't be scared to go out of your comfort zone, tell people your new and don't know your way around, some people are nice and will help. But always look your best, you never know who you're going to meet

Oh yea and that's the thing, I can talk to girls of they are sitting somewhere because I just sit near them and talk. That's easy and I have confidence to do that. But I hardly find girls just sitting somewhere that I want to approach because I am so picky. So in other situations like if a girl is walking or if she is standing looking at something, is it still OK to approach? Especially the one where if she is walking te same way as me...is it too weird to start a convo when I get next to her?

You talk as if your opinion is fact. Validation? If I wanted validation by getting a girlfriend I would happily take it. Is society supposd to tellme what I should and shouldn't feel? But it's not validation that I want...I want someone I love to spend time with, someone that can make me feel good, and someone I can just be close to...hug, cuddle, and more. You seem to assume its validation that I want.

well not much you can do to "get" one. girls are more into themselves than guys, I know it sucks

Always go with your gut feeling! If you see something you like, you go and get it, if you're curious but you think she's beautiful, tell her and ask it would be cool to get her number. Be fun and playful with it but not cocky like you don't even want her number. If you are confident in yourself and your appearance don't ever question yourself.
