It's as simple as just not directly looking when I know for sure that he could see me doing it. =P If I think he might notice, I keep it peripheral until he looks away. Once I've gotten a good look, THEN I might make eye contact and smile, or say hi, but other times I was just looking, that's it, and didn't intend for him to be aware of it.

@update: Usually face, hair, clothing style, general shape, etc. Any other random details out of the ordinary that might happen to catch my attention. I don't like uniformity, I like eccentricity, so that's what catches my eye.

I always just glance over as if I'm looking at something beside or behind them. Then I'll watch out of the side of my eye when they turn around or stop looking, so I can get another glimpse. (;

lol generally I socialize with people and if I'm talking to you, I can look at you.

if we aren't talking, then I may look at you while you're not looking. or steal glances like if you're walking by, ill sometimes do that thing where you act like its a natural reaction to look up at someone when they enter or leave a room or get up and walk across the room, etc. totally isn't but sometimes it is ;)

i blatantly stare but usually not when they are looking.

The general picture, his figure, height. and specifically his face, hair. his torso lol or body type. skinny, toned, built, broad shoulders, etc. I catch myself looking at how hairy their legs are or their arms sometimes, which is weird, I know. I like looking at their hands because they are usually bigger and look different.

We do it discreetly because we don't to give the guy any ideas. You see we haven't made up our mind yet :-P

I look around the room like I am scanning everyone and look at him, arms, body, face etc. And if he catches me I casually act like I am looking elsewhere/around etc. No change in facial expression or a really bored one keeps it a secret.

@ Update Pelvic area. You can look at the arms/shoulders/neck while conversing carelessly. Buttocks you can view while they are walking in front of you.

Well it depends on what type of checking out I'm doing. I personally just try to keep as much eye contact with the person I like without it being awkward. But sometimes yes I try to do it when they aren't looking. As far as to where I look? Depends on level of attraction. Could be face, lips, chest, arms, and yeah sometimes lower half region.
