He cut the date short, is it ok?

We went to a movie, had a good time (not our first date), he actually seemed less awkward than normal, held my hand, walked me to my door, gave me a kiss goodnight, etc. He's in a fraternity and I think he didn't want to take me back to the house. He told me he had to get up early to meet his dad. And it's mother's day weekend.

So is it a bad sign? (I've been getting mixed signs from him since I met him, I think he's shy)
