Girls, do indirect compliments have a meaning?

If a girl says to a guy something like that "my brother says you're cool" or "My friend says you talking good" (or such indirect compliments), does she mean anything?

If she says this kind of compliments, right after the guy said "good night, bye." on chat, does it make a difference?

It usually means she thinks highly of you and wants to reaffirm that good quality you have by letting you know of other people who think the same thing (wants to let you know it's appreciated).

I don't know why someone would tell you that after saying bye, that's pretty odd but I guess she might be flirting or trying to make sure you leave on a happy note.

If you've expressed a lot of insecurity/self esteem issues, no, if not, most probably! I don't think I'd do this to a guy I had no interest in... xD that would get me into all kinds of funny!

I do this to my mum though.

Yes, she's repeating an opinion (positive or negative) to see your reaction. Usually it's more effective if you do it live (face-to-face), but I guess it's not always possible.

Yes, but it's unwise to jump to that conclusion. I have a friend who is typically very sweet unless he feels pressed, in which case he gives people attitude. Anyway, someone who he gave the business to called me up to whine to me about it. I was a little surprised and keep teasing my friend about it because he looks so cute when he's trying to defend himself. I'm not interested in him that way -- and he's married -- but it's still funny to watch his reactions.
