Should I talk with a mutual friend about my crush?

I was thinking about asking him about my crush. I know they hang out together so I'm sure he knows my crush pretty good. I'm to nervous to tell my crush anything -___- it's frustrating me So maybe if I talk to his friend I can get something going.

My advice is just go for it and start casual conversation with the actual guy. You should work out if he likes you too, if not then use the friend approach
