Is being called a 'Southern Belle' a good thing?

Hi there :) the guy I really liked called me a southern belle, and I'm curious if that is a positive thing? Its just a quick silly question I was wondering. Thanks <3

It depends on who's saying it and whether they're smiling or sneering when they do.

I'll use it in describing something inadvertently flirtatious or charming with that innocent/incredulous tone that a real lady takes to overcome an odd situation. It may also be used to denote that regal lady-like swish/"sashay" designed to attract attention. Lastly, it may be used to refer to a certain catty undertone in conversation with others. (I personally use the term in reference to the first two, but I've heard it used as a derogatory term too.)

I think it means a southern beauty:) Since belle means pretty in french. and I guess it's how he would say it and how you would take it. If he sounds sincere then that means you do, if he sounds like a perv he means in a perverted way. I guess it's how you look at it.

For me it's a good thing because it means you haver certin core values that I personally find attractive. However it is completly relative to the person, but in my experience the worst it could be is an observation and the best it could be is a compliment. So chances are it is good! depends on your area I think. southern people tend to like other southern people (in my limited experience), so in that area its probably a good thing. where I live in southern california, people tend to be more condescending to deep southern people so its probably not as good here...
