Why do guys like to tease and be mean?

Its not too hurtful or anything but this guy teases me or playfully make fun of me pretty much 90% of the time! I have a sense of humor and all but geez! He doesn't do it with any other girl either!

It is quite strange but it is normal. I think it's definitely a guy thing too -- I tease my male friends all the time and they tease me back. Sometimes it can be a bit tiring and sometimes we can forget that it's not a good idea to tease girls but it kinda just happens. It's usually just a way to get your attention without having to display yourself as too sensitive and to appear as an alpha male or a man I guess. Also it is kind of a protection thing, I guess. Can you imagine if I wrote a girl a poem and shed a tear as I told her how much I loved her and then she told me she didn't feel the same way? I'd feel dead inside. However if I casually call a girl a loser and have a bit of a laugh with her and then ask to go see a movie and get rejected it's not as big of a deal.

So I guess it's a mixture of those things. Trying to look like a man, not trying to show too much emotion since that puts you in a vulnerable position and trying to get your attention.

Interesting. So you're more likely to insult a girl when you like her than not? How romantic. Today one of my fav teams lost and he laughed saying they sucked and only weirdos root for them. As I gave him this surprised look, he laughed like crazy! He does stuff like that every single day!

Yeah, I'm definitely more likely to insult a girl when I like her. In fact I can't imagine myself insulting a girl unless that was the case. I know it seems odd, and I'll try to keep it too a minimum in future. I guess I never really thought that girls might not understand it lol.

Ha! Girls mostly compliment guys! And of you do it too much, guys think you're clingy. But, if I decided to read and make fun, I'm looked at as one of the guys. Can't win!

Thats exactly what he does! Overwhelmingly tease! I rack my brain to think of a single time hr has not done so and I can't think of one. If a guy teases that much, it still implied that he's interested?

lol, sometimes I hold my tongue when I see a prime moment to tease a woman; though there are times that I might be attracted to her, and I might act like a five year and let impulse flow.
