Who gets approached more- the average looking girl or the attractive girl?

i've heard that most guys usually approach the average looking girl because she looks safer and more "Familiar". I'd say the theory makes a lot of sense. Coming from an average-ish looking girl myself, it seems like I attract a lot of guy's attention in class or just stares in public. All along, I thought it was because I was attractive, but I guess these guys just see me as simply more approachable.

The attractive girls get approached/hit on far less, which is very possible because they are more intimidating to guys, especially younger guys.

So tell me your experiences, do you really believe that attractive girls rarely get approached? if they aren't approached as much, then who are most likely to approach them?

Your theory holds true - but only in the right circumstance. You have to account for the above average looking girls who have the " average girl," personalities if you will. These are those girls you see who are always laughing and having a good time with their friends ( guys / girls alike,) that society writes off as being slutty or one of the " party girls," because not only is she social and have a lovable personality that makes men gravitate towards her, but she also happens to be attractive.

In my exps, when I go out into town looking " average," or a little below average ( lol you know those days you just roll out of bed :P -) I get way less male attention, with guys only engaging me when I bust a joke or say something witty / nice to him, ( I've always been bad for talking to strangers ha ha :P ) a few guys asked for a number after these encounters, even though I looked like who the fuq did it and why the fuq did they?

However, when I decide to where a flattering outfit, do my hair nice / make up right - I get stared down all day long. I catch guys checking me out from the corner of their eyes, doing second glances, cooing out something to their friends like, " she was fine," etc etc - and waay more getting hit on and approached in public settings. Also, the men who's numbers I get on my glamour days, tend to call or text immediately after the fact - whereas the men I meet on the not so hot days take a lot longer to respond. Coincedence? Perhaps.

Now, what I meant by " the circumstance has to be right - " is when you start engaging men in a sense of showing your personality. You can be absolutely stunning, but if you exude the vibe of " I'm hot sh*t b1tches!" that's usually what keeps men away. People have this weird intuition sense and we tend to pick up the vibes of others. If your looking hot and your smiling, asking people about their day, being helpful and lovely, your going to make it effortless for several men to muster up the courage to talk / approach you.

That's all it takes. What stops a person from talking to an attractive person is their own insecurities - therefore, the guys who will talk to you when you look hot, tend to have a fair amount of confidence.

Lol if the really attractive girls never got hit on, the icons of what's sexy and attractive for women wouldn't be at the high standard they are at... we make a habit of justifying our own realities to fight off insecurities, but the reality is as the reality goes - whether you accept it or not.

Would say the attractive girl always get's more attention but as for how often a girl as an individual is approached depends on how approachable she is. Approachability depends on a number of factors but I would say it's mostly down to intimidation. A girl can be intimidating because she's attractive or she can be intimidating simply because of her demeanor or the expression on her face. Of course there is circumstance/environment as well e.g. how many friends is she with, is there alcohol involved.

But to conclude both girls can be attractive to someone and it depends on whether that someone is willing to approach. Personally I think the more attractive a girl is, they less likely a guy would be willing to approach unless he's pretty damn confident in himself/unafraid of getting shot down/a pretty attractive person themselves.

I would say it depends on so many factors. When I used to hang out with my cousins, who are beautiful, we would get approached by a more attractive group of guys and some not so good looking. When I would hang out with my attractive friend she would attract all the guys, from slightly above average to below average looking guys. I don't know, my cousins also get a lot of compliments like on a daily basis. My friend does too but I don't see her as attractive, what she has going for her though is confidence.

Yes, it's hard to say because most guys who are confident and who think they got what it takes will approach a girl that seems hard to obtain. There are other guys who are more realistic and down to earth, some will be average to below average looking, that will approach the average girl.

Depends on where you're from. Small town hot or average chances are you're not going to be approached often no matter your image. A city like NY, a place where people don't give two sh*ts about how others view them, the hot girl is going to get approached with higher frequency. A medium city such as Toronto the average girl will be approached with higher frequency.

Allot of factors contribute to the approachability of a girl but in my mind, the foremost consideration is what's considered the social norm. I've spend much of my life living in one city or another and this kind of thing from my own experiences is very much determined based on the pulse of your city. I've noticed even the most confident of people mold to the expectations of society.

Keep in mind when I say "one city or another" I'm referring only the north America which has it's own distinctive culture. There in which this type of thing is defined. If your from an Eastern culture I have no f***ing clue. Sure I've traveled abroad but if I'm being honest what I find attractive in foreign women is typically not the local conceptions of beauty.

It really depends on the group of guys that are around. Guys with very high levels of confidence will ask out the really hot girls, and certain demographics tend to have a higher concentration of such men:

- very wealthy guys

- ghetto guys

- athletes

- performers (musicians, actors, etc.)

If you happen to be running in one of those groups, and you're very attractive, you're going to get hit on.

But for average guys, the super-attractive girls are too intimidating, and they rarely have the confidence to ask those girls out, because they are too afraid of rejection. In fact, they struggle to ask out the more average-looking girls as it is, so the added competition for the super-attractive girls (real or perceived) is too much risk for them.

Ghetto guys learn from a young age that they have to be aggressive to get anything or keep anything, and so the fear of rejection gets burned out of them early. They aren't shy about going after what they want, even if it's way out of their league, so they won't be afraid to hit on the hottest girls.

It was a list of guys with confidence, and from someone who has done on-site work for years in all types of neighborhoods, it definitely fits the list.

Attractive girls also wield a lot of power believe it or not. To give an example I was on a bus once with an attractive girl sitting beside me as my girlfriend. When we stopped at a place, a whole bunch of nerdy and rowdy guys got on, and sat behind us blabbering away. When it got to the point of annoying she turned her head to stare at them…..and the whole bus turned silent. It was a funny experience and reminder…they do wear the shoes.

In my opinion the attractive girl gets approached more. Maybe not as often as some might think, but she will get approached more often especially if she is in environments where people are drinking because alcohol will lower those inhibitions and allow guys to muster up more confidence.

I do think however that if you look at a 7 or a 10, the 7 will probably get approached just as often or even more than the 10 because guys will be intimidated. They'll discount their own chances and probably think that they'll be taken.

A 7 is more approachable than a 10, but a 7 is also more approachable than a 5. But really this is dependent on the guy. Some guys might be fine with approaching the 10

However this means that more players, jerks and creepy stalker types approach her as well...that's why the more attractive girls "have their defenses at higher levels" on average.

Thus, this is why more average girls look more "inviting" and approachable IMO.

Average girls typically have more of a personality and aren't as stuck-up as hot girls. Hot women often have a personality that revolves entirely around their looks because they're very used to getting lots of attention for their looks.

But beauty fades and because average-looking women had to develop other traits besides just looking hot to compete for men's attention, they're usually more interesting to be around and someone you'd like to be with even when her average looks fade.

The attractive girl. I know this from personal experience. I HATE asking girls out and I resent the fact that females always expect the male to do it. So I never do.
