Having second thoughts about girl after asking her out?

I don't know why this is happening, because most of the times I ask a girl out this never happens. It just that there are these two girls who I hang out with to me both of them are cute. One is cuter (girl b) then the other one (girl a), both are nice. For some reason I felt more compelled going for girl a. Now that I did ask her out (I had asked her if she wanted to "hang out" and have lunch. I don't know if some would still consider that a date?) someone told me that I could do better. It is at the back of my mind that should I have asked out girl b instead and now that chance would be shot. I have decided to go and do it just because I still like this girl, but just have this nagging feeling. I don't know what to do.

I know girls talk so I don't know if I should even bother try with the other girl. Well in a way if it works out with this girl I it still would be straight and I would be a happy dude.

this naggy feeling could be because you're having doubts about this girl--you felt drawn to her but someone else challenged that by saying you could do better. just take a step back and take a second look at her, if you still like her then take the time to know her without listening to other people's opinions. if you hear enough bad things before building up those experiences with her, it could taint your mind and end things before they even started.

but if things don't work out with this girl, there's nothing stopping you from going after the other. it's not like their bff's or anything. still, try to identify what that nagging is first, and just give this some time to see how it plays out. whatever you do, don't rush. there's no time limit, so take all the time you need.

like with me, I have to spend a lot of casual time with a guy before I go on dates with him, or I'll feel that naggy feeling and feel overwhelmed and pressured, which kind of kills my interest. and anytime I even think about comitting, I feel like my chances with other guys will be shot. but it doesn't sound like you're this type of person...

you can't be expected to know if you want to be serious with someone, without getting to know them first.

i don't there is nothing wrong with going out for the date with original girl and if things don't work out don't go out with her again . then in a few weeks down the road or later ask out the other girl if she's still single

If you set a date, go to lunch with her talk and get to know her. If you're not feeling her you don't have to give her a second date. It's not like a date expresses any sort of commitment. It's just a date.
