Shy girls, have you ever acted mean or rude towards your crush?

Or maybe sort of froze up or acted sort of standoff-ish or cold when he tried to talk to you, or when you talked to him because you were nervous?

Or maybe you acted really mean towards the guy you liked because you were denying your feelings towards him or felt that was the only way to give attention for him?

I remember back in high school there was this girl that tried to bully me sometimes, always hitting me, copping an attitude, making fun of me, to find out from her girlfriends that she had a really big crush on me.

also, sometimes when I try to talk to certain girls I like, I can't tell if she's either nervous cause she shy or doesn't like me at all. how can I know?

YES i am too shy , too too shy, when it comes to the guy i like, i feel really overwhelmed to talk to him alone, i always prefer we have company with us , or at least a friend , or else i would be really shy that i can barely talk, or i will talk but with great effort , i will look very nervous that i can't keep an eye with him, i would look down a lot. i have lost a guy that i really liked this way, he couldnt know if i like him or not. he has confessed to me that he has feelings for me via message , and since then i couldnt deal with him at all, i would leave the place just when he arrives, i would go talk on the phone or anything just to not be under the spot... but i believe it is not just shyness, it is great insecurity about my look and performance due to previous very big failure relationship wherei was very humiliated, lied to, cheated on , which has really affected my self steem, anyway, just be patient, there is a chance of 90 % that she likes you but shy, give her time, dont scare her, dont try to make her jealous, try to warm her up like dont insist that you go alone if she prefers company for now... etc

If I'm caught off guard (which I usually am with my crush because he's a little different) I can be stand-offish and I could see how maybe it seems like I was a little cold or uninterested but I am in fact very interested and attracted to him. I get especially nervous around him but find it easy to be playful in conversation with others that don't mean anything to me. I don't think I've intentionally been really mean, but I know there are occasions where I am not 100% clear in expressing my feelings towards him but I try to make up for it by showing him in other ways that I am really interested in hanging out or being really close to him and talking to him (but only when I feel like I have some control over the situation).

Always, mostly sarcasm/ meanness not rudeness. I don't make fun of him or do anything that hurt his feelings purposely. Being cold is my defense mechanism, I don't know how to react to that kind of stuff. I act like that with most people though, the time it takes for me to get fully comfortable for someone is longer than most guys want to wait. :o

Each girl is different, but me personally I have not intentionally tried to be rude to a guy I like. But, I have been standoff-ish. I do that when a guy does not text me back or ignores me. I will rationalize it and move on. If a guy really likes me, he will surely let me know. I am shy at first when I like a guy, but with time I will feel more comfortable. If he gives me any reason to believe that he is not interested in me I will move on.

Could you elaborate a bit on the running/walking away, please? When you see him walking into your direction, not at you to talk to you, do you just move, walk away so you don't have to meet him?

When I see him/her I move to the side/just go to a different part of the building so I'm not directly in view

Honestly, I'm always a total b*tch to any guy I like. I have some friends who call it hurty flirty. Honestly I can't help it, I just am always really rude to them. (I also tend to be a mega stalker)

Yes, some girls do that out of fear of rejection, so they'd rather not reveal their feelings initially. If you can get her to be comfortable around you, eventually she will warm up to you. In the case of shy girls, first impressions are likely to be wrong.

I'd have to like the guy for a really really long time before he spoke to me to freeze up, otherwise I wouldn't be that taken aback .

i use to avoid guys I liked when I was maybe 13-16 but I would never be mean or standoffish, I would get nervous and blush when they spoke to me.

Every girl has their own brain, their own memeories, their own stress. I get a lot of stress from school and how much homework I get, so whenever he talks my brain can't function right so I plainly scream at him. For example, one time he asked why boys and girls are seperated for gym and I reacted with "GGGYYYMMM" and ran away because I couldn't believe myself. Luckily he still talks to me, but only for a small amount of time, before i lash out my anger.
