If he wasn't interested, then it's weird he asks you out in the first place. So perhaps he just wanted to see what you would say, for whatever reason that is.

Or he changed his mind afterward, or chickened out. So he likes you, is afraid to ask you out and get a no, so in the end he does find some courage to ask you out. You say yes, and now he's not sure what to do next. So asking someone out is a first step, but when the girl says 'yes' it suddenly becomes reality and now you need to push through with it.

But how do you define 'doesn't follow through'? What happened: he didn't call, or let you know he didn't want to anymore?

He wanted to know when I was going to cook him dinner. He asked me twice in 3 days, the 2nd time I finally told him whenever was fine, he asked me what he could bring, I told him, then asked him when? His reply was "Im not sure yet." And that was that.

Dinner takes more planning than a simple coffee. A coffee you can do in half an hour, anytime during the day. Dinner is in the evening, and takes time to prepare and usually you will spend a longer time together. Planning this could be difficult.

For instance, currently I am very busy and usually have a quick dinner at home. As much as I would like to see a girl, right now it is difficult. I would really need to make sure I have the evening completely off, so I can focus only on her.

Hi Scoopie, I'm in a similar situation being my crush that asked me out and I said yes, but afterwards we never touched on the subject again, I just assumed he didn't want to anymore? We were both really busy anyways :/ and we are both shy so him asking me was a huge thing maybe I didn't show enough enthusiasm (I was shrieking on the inside) but I played it cool on the outside because I am shy LOL and he maybe took it as i was not interested enough?

I would have to mostly agree with the uglyone. That being said, there is a small chance that something unexpected and important really did come up. You might give him one more chance, but if he bails again, then I definitely think you should move on.

Not necessarily - he could have found out new information, he could have rethought things over, circumstances you're not aware of may changed... etc.. there's plenty of reasons other than he was never actually interested.

Either that, or he is colossally irresponsible and unreliable. Either way, why waste time with such a person lol?
