Why do most girls go for famous celebrity guys compared to guys they meet through friends?

Girls always go for guys like Justin Bieber over a guy that approaches her at random places.

Also when she first meet a guy though mutual friends, once she starts out as friends with him, "after he confessed his crush on her" she'll think he's a nice guy but not her type.

The only time a girl gets a regular hot guy as her boyfrend, is when she confessed her feelings to her male friend first, or her going up to a random guy first. Plus girls will show signs of interest like her staring at a guy all day, just so he can approach her. Knowing that if he's confident, he shouldn't always have to rely on her signals, just to talk to her.

It seem like girls only want a guys attention, whenever she was expecting it, just to look more important.

Me as a guy, I don't go for girls that think they have it easy in the dating world.

Questions that require very different answers...

They go for famous guys because chances are they've never really met the person (If they have, only for a minute or so) and don't know the guy so they can have all these fantasies about how the celeb is amazing and nice and smart and funny. They build up huge expectations of guys and compare them to everyone, everywhere just to see if there's a better one out there. In girls' minds, no one's better than a celeb. (And I'm saying this as a generalization of girls, me being one and knowing that I am at least 90% correct. Keep in mind, the girls who would turn down the funny/nice/cute guy that works at Ben and Jerry's because he didn't live up to Justin Bieber or someone on One Direction are the girls who were probably in the popular clique in high school.)

It's true that girls really want guys attention. Just yesterday I flirted with this hot guy in my class just for jokes 'cause he's actually a really good friend and I got dirty looks all day. The girls are all really attention-grabbing and they'll go out of their way to get the guys to notice them. Also, girls are annoyed when guys lead them on but girls do it more. They'll flirt heavily, give some signs, then make a 180 and act like they never did any of those things.

Actually the only time a girl gets a 'regular' guy as a boyfriend is when they grow up-mentally-and figure out having a boyfriend isn't the most important thing in life and that if someone makes you happy, they're more important than a rich or famous guy.

can't trust em. Honestly I said the same thing about not going after girls like that but the truth is all girls are like that. Happened to me several times and is why I dont trust a single soul now. Had the girl of my dreams for a couple years thought I was going to marry her, she was there for me at my lowest moments when I had 0 status then she left me for an nfl player. Girls make it seem like they are there for you when you are a nobody but then one someone with status comes around they are a whole new person. The only way you can be sure is if that girl actually turns down famous people in front of you and isn't fucking them on the low. Good luck with finding a girl like that. Im just trying to help you though, I hope you end up happy and have better luck then me. Im happy you know girls are like this but just have the awareness to see right through them when you start falling in love and believe everything they say.

Its called "the halo" effect. It has something to do with status and power.

Being a celebrity is to status, and you are already guaranteed some p*ssy.

It sucks because not everyone can be have the halo hovering above their heads. But hey, life sucks.

I see that you are an American. Being an American has a halo effect too. You are young so you have no experience of the outer world. But I promise you, if you go to other countries, women will throw themselves at you.

Depends where you go. From what I have heard a lot of Europeans have more anti-American views than before. Of course, in Okinawa it's really no wonder that there were "hordes" because you represent something exotic to them quite likely, since on average you are taller and more muscular than their local men.

That's because girls want social status, power and fame in a guy if they can get it. This goes for the hottest, youngest girls especially. They aren't all going to go after Justin, but a lot of them will. Your best bet is to build up your own social circle instead of trying to compete with a pop star.
