Boyfriend didn't invite me to his family's gathering?!

My boyfriends family had a gathering tonight. He never asked me to go with him, the reason I know about it because he said that his cousin was having a party and there would be food there. We were in each others presence for more than 2 hours. I came home, he goes to the party and I'm like damn, why didn't you ask me to go? He said I was busy doing other things. I said but all that time you never asked me to go with you. Why? He says again that I was busy doing other things. He pulled me to the side to have a conversation and still never mentioned going with him. I'm pissed because I don't get why he didn't invite me to go. Am I over reacting?

I agree he should have invited you, it was bad on him to just assume you weren't interested or were busy. But sometimes you have to make it clear. Use this opportunity to talk to him about this. If you want to get invited to these types of things make it clear to him that it's important for you to be included.

I had this same problem with my boyfriend, I have been with him for 2 years and always felt like I was on the back burner until I stood up and told him how it made me feel. Now he is inviting me to things and I am starting to feel like I am actually important. Sometimes it just takes one to stand up and let the other person know.

It wasn't that my boyfriend didn't want me there, it's just that he either didn't think about it or thought I would be busy. But when I told him how much I would love to be invited to his Family Christmas, or over for New Years or whatever, then I started to get invited over more often. And I started to feel more appreciated.

Let him know why it's important to you. You deserve to be included in this.

Why should I have told him that? This is not the first time he's done this to me. I invite him to everything my family has. I asked him why he didn't invite me and he replied because you were preoccupied with something else. That's bs to me. We had conversation about other things and he never asked. I feel like if he wanted me there, he would have asked...

I'm thinking the same thing. I text him and asked why he didn't ask me to go. Then he said he didn't think about it. Wtf! Now I'm feeling like he doesn't want me around his family. How you feel if your girlfriend went to a party and didn't ask you to go but when your family dies things, he's always invited? My feelings are very hurt, I'm not sure what to do now. I was so freakn angry last night I could sleep, I was pissed!
