My boyfriend won't grind ?

We went to a dance party with a lot of people me and my girlfriends where grinding every other guy stopped and looked and complimented us several guys came up to us to dance I would ask my boyfriend if it was okay and he said yeah ...but when people asked why we weren't it got weird he wouldn't grind I even attempted and he backed away?
My boyfriend won't grind ?
