What does it mean if he found out I like him and he does THIS . . .?

Okay, so this is what happened. My friend's boyfriend told my crush that I liked him. (I'm in high school, btw.) My crush said he was cool with it. Before he knew this, he would say hi every now and then and give me hugs, and occasionally glance my way. Now, he does the same stuff, except he seems to look my way more often, but seems reluctant to strike up a conversation, unless I start it. Once I do, he'll talk quickly. (Like, saying too many words in one sentence, like he's in a hurry, but he doesn't try to get away at all.) And if I'm near, and he's talking to his friends, (we share a couple friends) he'll step away from them a little, not talk as much to them, or tries to look busy (like checking his cellphone or iPod), and keeps looking my way. And when we say goodbye, his hugs are a little longer and tighter, but he's kind of reluctant in his hugs. For example, we don't give side hugs, only full front hugs, but he does that with everyone. But when he hugs another, he's open and friendly. With me, he's quieter, slower in hugging, and looks unsure. One day, he hugs me and his face nearly met mine! (Don't think he was paying attention, lol, even though he just hugged someone else MUCH differently.) Also, he seems to have more trouble in looking me in the eyes now when we talk, though it seems like he's trying.

I'm getting mixed feelings about this. Is he not interested?

(Note: his friends say he's really outgoing and flirty with friends, even to those who like (or liked) him, but shy when it comes to those he likes. He even said this himself.)
