Why would a married man flirt all the time with someone but still talk about his wife?

this guys been doing it for awhile now. Physical and verbal flirting. I don't flirt back but I do talk to him as a person nor do I encourage it, but he keeps on doing it?

I knew he was married but he never talked about his wife until one time I started talking about my ex, then he started introducing her name in our convos.

Im not intereted but just confused.

People in relationships that flirt a lot are generally needy and missing something in their relationship so they go use other people to pick up what's missing. For some that's just flirting to get a little more excitement and sexual tension in their life, for others it an emotional bonding sort of thing because they have a distant partner, some need more attention because they feel their partner is ignoring them, and some take the leap into cheating to get more sex when their relationship is running dry.

I think they mention their SO because they are 1) having problems with them, and 2) have feelings towards you but feel guilty about those feelings and try to use it as a divider to sort of indicate we can flirt and play but that's all. Kind of like I'm going to toy with your emotions but don't expect anything more to come of this.

I am a naturally open flirt. Meaning, I'll flirt with women in public while at work or elsewhere if it fits. I won't go to extreme lengths to flirt. I do it to be funny and cute. I do it in public so all can see, meaning I have nothing to hide. I am dating an amazing woman and still playfully flirt. Mainly with the women I work with because they get my sense of humor. I'll exaggerate my flirtations for the laugh and not to hit on someone.

You might want to ask him about this flirting. He might not mean anything behind it and talk about his wife because he's happy. I talk about my girlfriend at work then occasionally flirt right after saying something about her, to get a laugh. Have you talked to him about this?

ha ha no, its been going on for a few years now. It doesn't bother me, The only thing I was confused on is he just started talking about his wife, before he didn't mention her hardly. I started talking about my ex all of a sudden and he brought up his wife. And I don't encourage it at all, mainly I ignore him.In your opinion do you think its possible he is not aware he is flirting? This is what he's done. He might not be aware of it. MIGHT is the keyword. Some businesses and work places have a strict sexual harassment policy where as my workplace doesn't. I don't know why he would just now start talking about his wife. When I go to a new job with a strict policy, it'll be difficult to quit acting the way I do, it's a part of my charm and humor. I mean no harm. Does his humor or personality mean any harm or is he the relaxed and playful type?

He could just be a naturally flirty person, and if anything at all is missing in his marriage the flirting side might be dominating because he feels some sort of need. He might not even be aware of it, especially if he talks about his wife.

I've been having that issue too lately. A coworker who is married constantly flirts with me and I don't know what to do. I don't encourage him either but he just doesn't stop... I feel sorry for his wife...

same here. I've never flirted with the guy except tell him his hair looked nice one day, but other than that I ignore him, he comes up to me and initiates the conversations. All I can tell you is to keep up what you are doing and don't encourage it. Maybe he will stop, maybe he wont. Its possible he has a crush on you or just can't stop .

Yes, hopefully they will eventually realize it's a lost cause and calm down the flirting a bit. He seems like a nice man otherwise and like you I do my best to just act normal around him.

It could be he is just flirty in general or it could be that he just needs attention that his wife doesn't give him.

I have the same thing going..this guy stared a me so long and then checked me out so slowly and then back up to my eyes..it was so strange, yet he's married..why would a married guy do that?
