Why do older men 50+ flirt with me

I work part time in a retail store and they're always doing this. I have no interest in men who are old enough to have gone to school with my own father. If they have a good looking son who's available, sure, but not him lol

Do old men really think they have a shot with women under 25 or are they just flirting for sport?

It's mainly for sport.

That said, I can speak for 50 year olds but I probably get more interest from early 20s women now, in my late 30s, then I did in my early 20s. So I don't know, maybe some of them occasionally get somewhere. Grown men are not crushed if a woman doesn't flirt back with them. They don't so much do the 'has a crush and try to win her over' thing, rather they just flirt and see who is interested. They're also not stupid - they know women in shops are paid to be friendly.

As an aside, I'm not suggesting all younger women like older men. I suspect it's a minority. (I'm talking more then a couple years). But for whatever reason I'm more appealing to those girls then I was to most girls my own age when younger.

Men and women peak at different times. Men don't start to come into their own and start moving toward their potential until early 30's typically. Late 30's to early 40's is when they are really in a super stable position. Its more complications on women to conceive children (more health complication) a lot younger women don't have that issue and are often more attracted to the success and stability of an older man. Men are capable of conceiving fine their whole lives so that clock isn't their and can wait to start a family at older ages after they spent the first half of their life working and build their success.

They find you attractive and they flirt and since they mostly have no shot they also don't care so they do it. Some times really well.

I've got a good friend of mine he's 52 and he dates only women 20 to about 27. Over the years I haven't seen him have a date older than that but it's more toward 20 than not. And he has a lot of girlfriends and I do mean a lot. He's not all that good looking and you wouldn't say that he has money just by looking at him but he has confidence and knows his way around women so he's super successful. And I know of at least 3 women around 22 that would love to be with him but he won't give them the light of day.

because they like young girls. it is just for fun and some probably hope there is a chance but realize there is probably not. there's this 50 year old guy I know and he hits on me a ton. he acknowledges that he wouldn't think I would want him but made it quite clear that if I did he is open to possibilities.

i think he's super fun and we get along well but I'm 21 and I cannot date someone my dad's age, I just would not feel right at all. if he was like 20 years younger I could see dating him but oh well!

I work in a retail store as well, we get loads of older men feeling playful and flirting with us. For us we just view it as something to make the day go a bit quicker, and if nothing else we have something to talk about for the day!

They think you're attractive so they flirt with you. A lot of men that age date your age and younger and they date those girls by asking out those girls, which is your situation. I really don't see how this is any different than a guy in your age range that you have no interest in asking you out. It's the exact same thing.

Imo I think they are flirting for sport...and if they happen to land a young lady, then they'll accept her.

But mainly it's for sport; older people tend to be really shameless because they feel they have noting to lose by flirting with you, and that "fear of rejection" is null and void for them.

We are about the same age and I've been getting hit on by older men since I was 16.

Men love young hotties, and some of these older men actually get younger women.

They're just having fun. Guys want to have fun, too. They thinkit's funny when you get indignant about it. They tell all their buddies about how you got mad at them, and they all chortle together.

Youd be surpirsed. Sometimes It happens. Not always. But mostly they're just to the point where theyve been alive so long that their confidence level is through the damn roof so they just don't care if you reject them.

They may think they have a slight chance... which is better than no chance at all. Just be friendly and say your not interested. I have had older women 50 and up hit on me... Just play it off.

I think they are just being nice. Old ladies flirt with me and I think nothing of it. I'm sure when you reach 50+, you'll be doing the same ^__^
