I have a crush on my barista

I've been to my local starbucks so often now that this cute barista recognizes me and remembers my order every time.

He always shifts my drink around when I'm collecting it and laughs when I can't reach it, and he always pretends to clear my drink when I'm not done with it.

And he's always smiling at me and keeps on walking past me. And he only does it to me, I kinda like him too but how do I initiate conversation and not look desperate

Personally, I think it could just be he's being playful. At near minimum wage, ya gotta play with the customers a bit in order to keep it more interesting. I doubt it's a sign of interest (or a sign of disinterest).

As for advice, I have no idea how to "bridge that gap" between "business" and "play." There's a few really cute barista's at my local coffee places. I'd love to talk to them, but have no idea how to flirt or get to know them enough to ask them out.

I remember flirting with a sarbucks barista..she reported me to her manager, who threatened to have the police involved. Since then, I'm more careful what I say to them.

jThey're trained, like anyone in food service, to try to make customers think they are special.

Don't think you really ARE special...he's just good at his job.
