Have a crush on a guy that is around 10 years older then me!

I have this crush on this guy. I am 33 and he is mid 40's. This does not usually happen! I am usually attracted to guys more my age.

I have been noticing he has been giving me compliments like "hello gorgeous" and brushes his hand past my back when I walk past him.

Is that a form of subtle flirting or is he just being friendly?

Recently found out he was single as well so wouldn't mind hinting that I am as well. LoL.

What's the problem of just a 10-year difference? I have been with someone 30 years older and the guy who I like now is 20 years older. I have dated some younger guys as well but I prefer older guys because they are more mature. As long as you guys can communicate on the same level, there should be no problem. I am very mature and sometimes feel that people of my own age are "stupid" because of their immaturity. BUT if you think that the age gap is a problem, I would say don't even start anything.

For what he does, it can be flirting but it also may not be. Older guys are normally very generous in giving compliments. They also have more experiences in knowing what's the "right" things to say to get a smile. You'll actually need to talk to him in order to know if he is interested or if he is just being friendly.

I've been though the same thing, with a guy 15 years older than me. It was just a crush, though, and never went anywhere. Then we drifted apart and now haven't spoken in months.

I didn't know it at the time but he was flirting with me: touching my earlobe, fixing my bra strap, calling me when he was having problems, etc. Apparently he was flirting because when I told this to my boyfriend (whom I got together with after the older guy and I lost touch) he said guys don't normally do that and so he was flirting with me.

In your case, I don't know if you can consider "Hello gorgeous" as flirting because some people just say that to any female friend as a greeting or general term of endearment. But since he's single and you like him, why not give it a shot?

I thought the same thing. That maybe he meant "hello gorgeous" (plus he does not know my name lol) could be a term of endearment but the lightly touching me on the back thing made me think differently.

Like his cheeky playfulness type of personality. He usually randomly makes small talk with me when he approaches me and sees me at times. May have to pro long the conversation and introduce myself properly to him also.

I think that the there is less of a difference in age and thing you have in common the older we get. Even though the difference between a 23 year old and a 30 something year old would be the same chronologically they would probably have less in common then you two. I would go for it.

I agree. The older people get, the less age difference matters. Like a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old are usually very different but a 50-year-old and a 60-year-old can have a lot in common.

Maybe continue to flirt with him. Maybe if you get the chance casually drop the info that you are single when talking to someone else when he is near.

May just do that and properly introduce myself as well. He does not know my name either. Another possible reason why he called me that but the gentle touching on the back makes me wonder if that was a sign of flirting. Just gotta not think too much of it and just get to know him. Plus flirt back of course.
