Signs a Japanese guy may like you

What are signs a Japanese guy (from Japan) likes you? I am Canadian, and live in one of those student room rental houses with 8 other people. The Japanese guy has only been in Canada for about 6 weeks now. When I broke up with my boyfriend, and we were all drinking together, he said to when he found out "you will have no problem finding boyfriend because you are very attractive.". Another time we drank, I said to him "I think you think I'm too crazy or weird sometimes" and he replied to me "I like crazy"... And when we talk, he will touch my arm and rub it down in a friendly gesture. Once, I was going to do laundry at night time, and he just came with me, I never even asked. And we hang out in a group often...etc...

Anyhow, my friend who also lives with us (from Vietnam) is convinced he likes me. She told me one time, he was so worried that I was angry with him, he apologized to everyone in the house, and asked her what we talked about the other night, and if I was mad at him. When I talked to him about that and said I was not mad, he was all shy and told me to let him forget about it. It was so cute.

Are any of these signs he might like me? Or are they typical of how a Japanese guy treats a friend? He explained the public affection rules in Japan and how he is shy and introverted, especially when it comes to touching women. Yet as I mentioned before, he touched me sometimes. What do you think? Could he be interested? What are typical signs to look for?
