Do waitresses get hit on a lot?

I was at this restaurant with a friend when I noticed this waitress who wasn't doing our table was looking at me a lot whenever when she walked by us, so I started looking back at her and holding it, and at one point she stopped and we stared at each other for like 5 seconds straight, then before we left, I went up to her and said, "you're absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn't take my eyes off you", her eyes lit up, she got a huge smile, and eventually got her number.

I'm confused though about why she would have given me her number, because when I approached her I assumed many guys hit on her like that every day and didn't actually expect anything.

Well I haven't been hit on unless that's what my larger tips are for if not for being curteous. But I have been hit on once me and two other waitresses it was last hour before closing and this guy was staring looking at us through the window and he came in sat down and was basically like all of you ladies look lovely or something to that effect and the chef/owner was sitting there and was like hey don't be tryin to get my girls. Which it was pretty funny.

no, I was a waittress and guys were horrible. I never got hit on, except for a woman that asked me if I studied too and when I told her I was an engineering student she wanted to tell me all about her son and how he looks for me to meet him when she returned

There are some guys who like to be funny and all, but I wouldn't call it being hit on. The movies sure give the job a different color.

no they get flirted with so do some guy waiters...sometimes gets you free food ha ha but few ask for the number

my firneds that work as waittresses are always complaining about customers so I don't think that's true

waitresses typically are only flirting for bigger tips

best to stay away from that situation
