Are Asians usually only attracted to other Asians? Or is this a stereotype?

Why do asian guys usually stick with their own race? I've heard this stereotype before, that usually asians only like other Asians.

I am white, and usually like Asian guys. The thing is, whenever I tell my friends something like, "oh, so and so is SO cute!" they always respond, "yeah, but he's asian, so he probably won't like you."

I've noticed most asian guys date asian girls, is it because they stick to culture? Or because they're not attracted to other races?

IDK, can anyone tell me if generally asians like only asians, or if they just stick to culture?

so would it change things then if the guy was half asain, half white ? would this change the standard and pressure from his parents ?

Coming from an Asian perceptive, it just all depends on where and how the child was rasied. I have to say though most of the time it is not that the parents are very very strict sometimes it's just an excuse. It also depends on which parent is the Asian one and which parent is more dominate in the family. Usually somee Asian guys tend to date anyone they find attactive but then not marry them because they figured it would give their parents a harder time to fill in a role within the family. For example (white guys and girl marriage) , in my culture the parents of the boys family should be cherished whereas they live with the whole family and the girls family is looked on as an outsider family. This is the reason why most Asian women try to marry outside their race (usually white) because then the girl's side of the family can be equally treated but then because their daughter married outside of the race a traditional marriage cannot occur because the white people do not understand, know how and to present things in the right way based on cultural perpectives the Asian family would feel mistreated and disrespected by the groom's family. Then again sometimes the family just want to have a stright out american wedding. (asian boy and white girl marriage) The only problem with this is that since the daughter in law would be living with the parents and her husband they expect food on the table at least two times a day and usally food they like, sometimes this is not american food but food that come from their country or culture. There is also the language problem in which sometimes everyone in the family cannot speak english meaning you would have to speak to them in their language. Asian guys also do not talk very much when something is bothering them they would just keep it in. So just to avoid all the stereotyping and insults they just keep it within their race. The way I see it is that it's all about communication.

I'm Asian and my family is super strict. Basically, if I marry anyone outside of my race, my parents will disown me. These are not my views but that's the way it is. I've been attracted to white guys, black guys, Asian guys, but I am only allowed to date/marry an Asian guy (specifically, a Chinese guy). You're probably thinking "you're an adult; why can't you make your own decisions?" It's hard to explain to someone who doesn't come from the same culture but...my family is deeply ingrained as part of my identity and breaking from that would mean a major identity crisis on my part. It's like the mafia. You can't escape it. That's why a lot of Asians tend to stick with Asians in terms of dating and marriage; many of us have to deal with trying to find a sometimes impossibly difficult balance between trying to appease our strict traditional parents and living our own lives.

However, not all Asians come from overly strict families. These are the ones who are usually more open to interracial dating. I know a few Asian guy friends who have dated outside of their race, so it really depends on the guy and his family background. But in terms of attraction, of course Asians can be attracted to individuals of a different race; the likelihood of getting romantically involved though would depend on several factors.

As an Asian whose been primarily attracted to non-Asian men (usually white or white passing half asians) I think that in some cases its parental/family pressure and upbringing.
In a lot of Asian families they want people of similar upbringing so they won't even accept an Asian of another nationally. (For example my mom is half viet and half filipino, her vietnamese side did not like her filipino side)
So I do think that Asians can find other races attractive/want to date them but feel bad or shame to do so since in Asian households its collective based/the family opinion count.

im an asian myself so this is coming from real events...typically asians tend to be attracted to other asians because of language and simila feelings toward their parents. for most asians, their parents are hella strict, so when we meet up with other asians, they already know how we feel (not to say that other races don't have strict parents but with asians we tend to have near exact experiences and conflicts with parents). this is a stereotype. not all asians are only attracted to other asians, so if ur crush is asian, forget the stereotype and pursue anyway. sometimes its a culture thing also since most asian parents thin that other races are inferior to their own, so typically they push their son/ daughter to pursue their own race. eff this part of our culture and jst ask the guy out.

For me personally being an asian guy I'd prefer an asian girl because I probably won't have to deal with stupid stereotype questions either from her or her friends or family. Also we'd more than likely have more in common. Simple as that I think. Of course some are just real traditional and parental influence plays a part.

That's true; sometimes, it's just easier. If I'm with someone from the same background, I won't have to explain to him certain things that might seem strange to someone from a different culture.

That's not always true. I'm a girl, but I am half Asian, and the guys that I have liked weren't all Asian. And I've seen Asian guys with girls of different races, too. My cousin, for example, is dating a white girl currently, and they work really well together. But really, a lot of people stick with their own race most of the time, no matter if they are Asian or not. It's mostly just what they are used to.

I'm generally attracted to asian girls. In a crowd, I'd probably notice them first but as for dating, it doesn't really matter to me. I'll go out first and deal with my crazy asian parents later.

As a Chinese woman, I think Chinese women and Chinese men are indeed attracted to Chinese people first.
