Why does a guy slowly look away?

A guy was talking to someone one day at work about 25 feet away. I looked at him. I found him looking at me. Then he s l o w l y looked away while still looking at me as he looked at me. He almost looked like a creepy jack in the box or clown. His eyes were slightly wide/surprised.

What the fudge? What does this mean?

You know how some people say, "Uhhhh..." The way he looked away reminded me of that! If his action had a sound or word, it would be THAT.

He also looked away almost immediately but still AT me as he looked away.

I see three possibilities and I have done one of them in a similar this gut did.

As suggested earlier might be flirtatious. He was trying to suggest to you his interest and might have come off as a creep due to your interpretation or his inability not to over do it

Second is he was, as my wise friend puts it, "eyeFucking you". Meaning having sexual fantasies of you while holding your gaze

Third and what I have done a couple of times is you look like a familiar person they have seen/met. One time I saw this girl I thought I saw from some incident on the public bus and I was so in my thoughts trying to discern if I was right that my face must have looked weird as she gave me a look...

Would he be "eye-fucking" me when I wasn't looking at him? When he saw þe catch him he looked slowly but immediately, if that makes any sense.

My description of eyeFucking is a bit off. To answer your question yes he was/could eyefuck you while you're not looking at him. I meant to say eyeFucking is whenever a guy is looking at a girl, regardless if see's looking at him or not

Wow, I looked up the definitiok of eye-fuck. Interesting. He broke the gaze by looking slowly to his right (instead of down). Does this signal lack of interest? He still looked like a creep looking away no matter what.

Dont read too much into tht type of pop psych cuz there could be other reasons. Use it as a guiding principle with discretion instead of a fact. It can be true at times wen some one breaks a gaze by looking down means submission cuz they like u.

Doesn't have to mean anything... could be flirting, could be just looking in that direction, one look doesn't always have to mean something. Which is why I hate eye contact as flirting.
