It depends on the situation a lot. Is he really a complete stranger or is he a friend of a friend of a friend? If it's the latter, then it would be more likely of me to go out with him. But a complete stranger? I doubt it... I need to know at least a little about someone before going out on a date with them.
So do I like it? If done right, I will find it flattering, even if I end up turning them down. If done wrong (and I mean seriously wrong) I will find it creepy. I will only find it creepy if you use sleazy pickup lines, say it with a creepy voice and if you're over 40.

Actually yes it happened to me and now we are married and have two kids lol, it happened in high school he just randomly came up to me in the middle of class and asked me to dance with him i thought he was crazy but he wouldn't stop asking me till i finally said yes then we slow danced and he was smooth lol funny thing is he looks like a geek lol tall skinny huge glasses now he looks completely different but back then he was a cute nerdy guy after we danced he asked me out :-)
Yep... if it was a cute way of asking out... And if I was attracted to him.
What?
No way. Did you observe the entire pick up from beginning to end? He really went for a date the first time he met her? He must have sweet talked her for at least 8 minutes first...
Tell me more details.
I gotta say, I think you're misreading the situation. Why'd you use the word "apparently"?
Girls like attention, but asking for a date right on the spot is the wrong approach usually. The goal of a pick up artist is getting digits.
if you are well groomed, well built, attractive and articulate, i can see this working, but probably not for the average guy.
that said a mate of mine once went up to the kebab shop and came back with a kebab and a girl (who he had met in the shop)... but he is very smooth talking and fairly attractive (even though long term he is a douche to women and can't maintain a relationship)

It would depend completely on his approach and whether he's her type or not. I've seen guys approach the same girl the exact same way and one was "creepy" because she didn't find him attractive and the other was "sweet" because she thought he was cute.
yes!!! girls LOVE this, suddenly we, out of a who room of people, are pretty enough and nice and smart enough to make an impression on a guy. and if we made an impression on him, who knows how may other hearts we've stolen!
She probably was attracted to his looks right away. Sometimes attraction comes right away, other times, it's grown into
I wouldn't but maybe the girl knows like some people he hangs with.. orsomthing
depends on how the guy did it. if he is super charming and sweet i wouldn't be able to say no (for example my current boyfriend asked me out this way)
however, if he was really creepy and forward i would almost definitely say no.Depends on how he approaches, you can't over do your approach or it can make you look desperate, or a creep, you have to be casual about it.
Haha Hell we got YouTube videos over this shit! Aha We do it on weekends:-p Want link?:p muahaha
Um... I for one would think its hella creepin. Just sayin.
