The pigs' feet are a known foodstuff in rural America and many different societies from developing countries. Offal meat consumption is just not common among the affluent, and middle-class Caucasian Americans, Australians, Canadians, and Western Europeans tend to be wealthier than other peoples.

Actually canned and jarred pigs feet is really common in the US especially in the south were pigs feet is a delicacy, I've eaten it myself it's not bad.

Tongue is not that bad either is common in some places to.

Now the rest of that I'll give you is a tad strange.

I've not canned pigs feet before, but fresh ones you can get at an Asian's butchers (as it's not an unknown dish in my culture) so that doesn't gross me out as much as the others 🙊

Ah gotcha I didn't know Asians ate pigs feet, in the south though pigs feet is like a staple food along with grits. Though the pigs feet in the south are pickled.

Yeah it's common. It's usually in a soupy soya sauce broth with boiled eggs. It's a favourite of mine actually. We don't have them pickled but we'll have pickled chicken feet. And that's usually eaten as a cold salad among herbs, which is also another favourite of mine lol

What are grits?

Hmm interesting and o yeah? you didn't strike me as someone who likes to eat feet haha. we don't mix them with anything we just eat them plain mostly or along side other dishes and the meat isn't off the foot we eat the dismembered foot.

Um grits are kind of like oatmeal or porridge sort of, grits are made out of corn that has been treated with an alkali in a process called nixtamalization, which is ground into a meal and then boiled. You pour it in a bowl with water and boil it in a bowl or pot and the grits absorb the water and expand and become softer, moist and cooked.

They have a slight corn taste but overall don't have much taste on their own, you can mix them with pretty much anything, brown sugar, butter, fresh fruit, meat, choose, salt, pepper, pretty much whatever you want. They're quite filling, I guess you could think of them like southern US rice lol.
